This January, Byron Bay will once again slip behind the velvet curtain as The Byron Speakeasy returns for its second season — a six-night celebration of world-class music, vintage glamour and after-dark summer magic.

The Byron Theatre will be transformed into a luxurious cabaret as The Byron Speakeasy reimagines the classic prohibition-era nightclub for a modern audience: candlelit tables, late-night cocktails, playful decadence and an atmosphere that invites people to slow down, lean in and savour the moment.Tonight, we are thrilled to introduce our feature artist, Pat Powell

Few voices in Australia tell a story like Pat Powell’s. With a career spanning more than four decades and genres from soul and jazz to ska, reggae and funk, Pat has become one of the most distinctive and sought-after performers on the scene. His voice — warm, agile and unmistakably soulful — has earned him spots on stage and in the studio alongside Kylie Minogue, Paul Kelly, James Morrison, Jenny Morris, The Finn Brothers, Margaret Urlich, Max Q, and many more.

A longtime member of the Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Pat has toured nationally and internationally, bringing his signature energy, humour and groove to audiences around the world. His catalogue of collaborations reaches across genres and generations, cementing him as a connector, a collaborator and a true musical chameleon.

Whether fronting a big-band, leading a reggae rhythm section into a deep pocket, or easing into a late-night jazz standard, Pat commands the stage with authenticity and effortless cool. He is, quite simply, one of Australia’s most enduring and versatile voices — and a performer who brings heart and history to ever.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
