Standing at the arse of the year and looking back at 2023 and the memories and moments we’ve shared; we’ve changed stables a couple of times, and opened the new doors at Carousel, we’ve welcomed the likes of Enzo Siragusa, Margaret Dygas, Voigtmann and Raresh amongst a whole host of others.
We journeyed up to your splendid town of Byron Bay a healthy handful of times and can safely say it’s one of our favourite destinations to pop by. From seriously heavy hitting events in the depths of the Theatre, to digging deep into the discography of Djebali at The Northern, we’ve done the rounds this year but we’re not done just yet.
We have one last show in up in Byron Bay before we clock off for the year and pretend to get some rest and relaxation.
We’ve saved our biggest guest till the very last night of the year - Sonja Moonear. Relaxed about publicity, slick behind the decks and, with a keen eye for the dance floor, Moonear now ranks among dance music's most in-demand selectors, with a versatile and rhythmic style that takes in a broad cross-section of house, techno and minimal. She’ll be taking the reigns at Byron Theatre on Friday 29th December, to give us all a good serving of proper house music and remind us why she is the Queen of The Underground.
Byron born & bred, Dylan Griffin returns to home soil to make sure our gal Sonja has her stirrups firmly fastened and her saddle slung ready. Kerry Wallace will also be in tow, unable to be torn away from the deep red ambiance of The Theatre. Joining the crew, and opening things up for us, Fer Ciccive makes his S.A.S.H debut, after getting demonstrably deep with a superb warmup mix submission.
All in all, it’s a recipe made for masters, and will be packed well to the rafters. Every S.A.S.H Byron event has sold out in advance, get in early to secure your spot on the dance floor and ensure you don’t miss out on serious house music royalty.
