As the Byron Community Centre marks 130 years of service, the 2025 North Coast Tourism Symposium comes to Byron Theatre for the first time in the event’s history.

Presented by Destination North Coast in partnership with Byron Shire Council, the Symposium brings together tourism operators, industry leaders and policymakers for a full day of discussion, ideas and collaboration. This year’s theme, “Inspire! Shaping Tomorrow’s Visitor Economy”, focuses on innovation, resilience and sustainable growth in the face of industry change.

With Byron Bay long recognised as a cultural and tourism icon, the Byron Community Centre and Theatre's role as a community-led hub for the arts, creativity and care since 1985 makes it a fitting location for this landmark gathering - the first North Coast Tourism Symposium held in the Byron Shire.

“Byron Theatre has always been a space for ideas and imagination. We’re proud to host this conversation during a milestone year for the Byron Community Centre and the wider community.”

The program will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions and networking opportunities designed to inspire fresh thinking and strengthen connections across the region.

Speaker Lineup & Updated Program

Keynote speaker Mark Bouris AM will open with insights on innovation in business, followed by expert-led sessions on AI and market trends. Other highlights will include success stories from operators, an update on DNSW's NSW First program and a new presentation by Tourism Australia tying national strategy to the North Coast.

Tickets are selling fast, get yours before it's too late!

Choose Your Adventure

After a big day of ideas and inspiration, Friday 1 August is all about getting out and experiencing the North Coast for yourself. These local activities are a fun way to see some of the themes from the Symposium in action - and yes, the DNC team and board members will be there too! Spots are limited, so book in ASAP.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
