17th June – 20th June 2025
This week at Fletcher Street Cottage, we’ve been grateful for generous donations, celebrated milestones and continued working with key partners to provide essential support for our community. Here's a look at what’s been happening this week.
Highlights:
- A huge thank you to Let’s Go Surfing for their generous $1000 donation to our Women’s Space! This donation will go towards surf lessons for the women and children accessing our support services. We’re all incredibly excited to get out in the water and are so grateful for their support.
- On Thursday, we farewelled Vicky, one of our dedicated breakfast volunteers, who is heading off to travel. We wish her all the best on her new journey! We also said a big thank you to Torsten for his regular pretzel donation, made even more special this week as they were made by local school kids with Torsten’s support.
- We celebrated Victor, our Community Support Worker, on his birthday this week! Happy Birthday, Victor - thank you for your continued hard work and dedication to our clients.
- We attended the Northern Rivers Zero Action Group meeting, where we collaborated with key stakeholders from the Homelessness Sector to discuss systemic barriers and how to address them. These meetings are vital in helping us bring critical issues to the attention of policymakers.
- This week, we had our weekly GP visit, offering much-needed healthcare for our service users. We also had Social Futures - Connecting Home Adult Housing Program, Community Corrections, The Homeless Health Outreach Team and Carefinder Footprint Community supporting those over 65 years of age.
- This week, we supported 230 people, providing vital services and resources to help them move toward a more stable and secure future.
