Are you an experienced relationships manager looking for a meaningful position within your local community centre?

We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent part-time position located in the centre of Byron Bay (Jonson St) within our not-for-profit and charitable organisation, offering 30 hours per week over 4 days (hours negotiable).

The Byron Community Centre Relationships Manager plays a significant role, as its purpose is to lead the development and implementation of fundraising strategies, operations and activities to achieve goals and financial objectives.

Working closely with the management team and stakeholders, the Relationships Manager will identify, develop and implement funding opportunities that align with the organisation’s goals. This position requires a collaborative approach, strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of philanthropy, government grants and the charity sector generally.

Responsibilities

Major Position Functions

Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including grants, sponsorships and community campaigns.

Build and sustain relationships with major donors, corporate sponsors and philanthropic organisations.

Create and manage integrated fundraising campaigns across social media, email, print and community channels.

Manage and grow our online presence, including social media and website updates.

Collaborate with our Communications Manager to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment.

Assist with community fundraising events, partner initiatives and grassroots campaigns.

Monitor campaign performance and prepare reports on fundraising outcomes.

Establish, nurture and sustain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, government agencies, community partners and other stakeholders.

Act as the organisation’s representative, advocating for its mission and fostering opportunities for growth and collaboration.

Develop and execute the bequest program.

Strengthen ties with government agencies, community organisations and private sector partners to secure financial and operational support.

Regularly evaluate and adapt stakeholder engagement strategies to align with emerging opportunities and needs.

Job requirements

Selection Criteria

Exceptional relationship-building skills with a focus on donor and stakeholder engagement.

Experience in fundraising, partnerships, donor engagement or a similar not-for-profit role.

Strong writing and storytelling skills with an ability to connect people to purpose and demonstrate impact.

Experience in social media management, newsletters and digital communications.

Familiarity with donor databases, CRMs and/or website platforms such as Webflow.

A collaborative spirit and genuine passion for community impact and social change.
