NRCF are delighted to announce the opening of the Byron Community Centre Fund which is now accepting donations from community members who wish to support the work of Byron Community Centre now and into the future.
Over the last few years NRCF has set up and managed Funds for many wonderful organisations and businesses who are focused on making a difference in the region. The Byron Community Centre Fund is the latest Fund established through their giving in perpetuity program. The NRCF is passionate about supporting a long-term and thriving Northern Rivers community, and their role is to enable our not-for-profit and charity sector to flourish.
As CEO Sam Henderson explains:
Through opening a Fund with the Northern Rivers Community Foundation, organisations can create a legacy for the important work they do, as a portion of the Fund donations are invested to grow the Fund, ensuring it continues to support its passion area for many years to come, not just in the short term. We are delighted with this Fund to continue our partnership with Byron Community Centre, building on our collaboration through the 2022 floods to fundraise and deliver grants through the Northern Rivers Flood Relief Fund.
The Fund’s purpose is “to support the activities and operations of the Byron Community Centre in perpetuity” and will allow those who are passionate about the Byron community to leave a bequest or make a donation which ensures their passion is honoured into the future.
General Manager of Byron Community Centre Louise O’Connell said establishing a Fund with NRCF allows community services such as social and cultural programs, as well as the homelessness support program provided by Fletcher Street Cottage, to continue.
This Fund will allow us to build on the 100-year history of the Byron Community Centre supporting our colourful Byron community and will also support some of our town’s most vulnerable community members. Thanks to the generosity of a donation from Global Ripple, we can now commence the process of making this a reality via NRCF. We encourage anyone who enjoys the atmosphere, community fabric and uniqueness of Byron Bay to consider making a donation to the Fund, to support this incredible legacy that we are building for the future of the Byron Community Centre.
