As the holiday season draws near, Byron Community Centre announces its heartwarming initiative, the "Adopt a Family” Christmas Appeal, aimed at extending joy and support to families experiencing financial hardship in the Byron Shire.

With the spirit of giving in full swing, Byron Community Centre invites individuals and businesses to participate in this uplifting program designed to brighten the holidays for families facing adversity. The initiative seeks donations of bespoke hampers containing quality non-perishable food, meaningful gifts and vouchers valued at $100 per family.

Families in need are identified through partnerships with Fletcher Street Cottage, a homeless hub managed by the Byron Community Centre, and Liberation Larder, a food rescue service. Participating is straightforward:

Choose a Family:

Select a family from the provided list, each identified by a unique number.

Confirm Your Adoption:

Contact Byron Community Centre at (02) 6685 6807 to confirm the family you've chosen to support.

Create a Thoughtful Hamper:

Assemble a festive hamper with items that will bring joy to the chosen family, aiming for a value of $100 in non-perishable food, gifts and vouchers.

Deliver Your Gift:

Drop off your hamper at the Byron Community Centre reception on Wednesday 13th December, ensuring it reaches the families in time for the holidays.

Let's unite as a community to ensure every family feels the spirit of the season. Your engagement in spreading kindness amplifies the festive spirit, bringing brightness to those who need it most.
