Two Weeks... just surrender

A film experience by Johnny Abegg

Join local filmmaker Johnny Abegg (On Credit) as he takes 2 weeks out & ventures into the heart of the Tasmanian Wilderness alone, to gain clarity during a period of growing confusion and unhappiness.

Armed only with a camera, a journal and the bare necessities, the decision takes Abegg on an inward journey, to a place of reflection, accountability and deep self-inquiry, within an unforgiving landscape.

Will he find what he is searching for?

An introspective documentary, Two Weeks exposes the universal questions that arise as we hurtle toward our own 'Saturn Return'; the fears, emotions and triumphs captured honestly through Abegg's experience.

Two Weeks also pairs up with the "Dirty Sweet, Heartfelt Folk" of Soloist Musician M. Jack Bee. A beautiful/unique sound not to be missed.

Mojo Juju & The Snake Oil Merchants

'The music strangely familiar, hinting at influences from Cab Calloway, Fats Waller and Don Tosti to Screamin' Jay Hawkins and Tom Waits'

Born 4 years ago, under a blue moon, in two bit flea pit roadside bed sit-starting from humble beginnings of playing blues and country swing Mojo Juju & The Snake Oil Merchants have come a long way! It could have been something in the water. Some say it was too much whiskey. Others guess at something of Hoodoo proportions.

Whatever their secret is, it has slowly seen this band bend and contort into a formidable mutant junk punk cabaret. This band will get your pulse racing, and the jive jumpin'. They have developed a reputation for being entertainers in the truest sense. Seamlessly incorporating burlesque and sideshow into their live performance.

They have made a spectacle of themselves for the last two years at Woodford Folk Festival and Bluesfest. They have also recently appeared at Sydney Festival 2010 at the famous Spiegel tent, Adelaide Fringe 2010 and at Melbourne's Bohemian Masquerade Ball 2010.

 vulva

 Vaudeville of the Vulva

is a hilarious journey into the underbelly of society's attitudes to feminine genitalia. A comic cabaret following an English lady ‘of a certain age' as her interactions with a troupe of unusually vocal velvet vulvae take her from denial to empowerment. Not to be confused with Puppetry of the Penis, this show is funny, sexy and wise but involves no nudity.
Laura-Doe created her first one-woman show aged nine - a feminist commentary entitled ‘The Dangers of Being a Princess'. It has taken four decades for this second work to emerge, but she has kept busy honing her performance skills as a lecturer, corporate trainer, actress and MC, developing her singing and songwriting with The Voices of Gaia and being generally hilarious in the privacy of her own home.
Laura-Doe is joined by the Wondrous Vulva Puppets with Andrew Cox playing piano and Anando Bharti, bass.
"It was funny, beautiful, educational, moving, inspiring ... thank you for being such a light in this area and in such a funny, light hearted way - at the same time offering such wisdom and much needed information. Your puppets are fantastic!" Karen Katz, - Infinite Potential Centre, West Burleigh

Sarah Blasko

returns home for extensive Spring Tour in October 2010.

Sarah Blasko is a performer of untouchable talent. Currently touring in Europe where the pan-European release of her phenomenal third album, "As Day Follows Night" has been welcomed with open arms and to serious acclaim, Sarah returns home in October for a five week tour across the nation - from Albury to Townsville and everywhere in between - including major performances at theatre venues in all capital cities.

Promising a retrospective program revisiting her whole repertoire, Blasko's live shows always deliver more. Her previous tours have seen fellow musicians Robert Forster of the Go-Betweens, Glenn Richards of Augie March and Tim Rogers join her on stage.
