Vagina ConVersations #3 at Byron Theatre

2 SHOWS: Wednesday 14th & Thursday 15th February.

After sell out performances two years running, this informal, diverse collective of some of Byron Shire’s powerful, creative women, aged 17 to 80, gather to share their personal stories about the most powerful area of a woman’s body: our vaginas. Part of the V-Day global revolution to end violence against women and children.

Fresh from the morning Main Beach flashmob, the women use poetry, word, dance, song and comedy to share their experiences and inspire and empower others.

Vagina ConVersations is funny, sad, exciting, challenging, and celebratory, and is a more contemporary evolution of the Vagina Monologues, bringing a courageous fresh local flavour to our community.

Telling their stories about their vaginas and orgasms are:

MC Zenith Virago,
Mandy Nolan, Feather, Lynda Dean, Moana Pearl, Jennifer Lalor, Gopi Lev Dupain, Jan Terkelson, Ilona Harker, Ti Harrison, No Frills Twins and Sarah Temporal.

Proceeds to Women’s Resource Service – Byron Escape Fund supporting Byron
Shire women escaping intimate partner and family violence. Financing women in
crisis to pay for emergency accommodation, keeping women and children
safe. Approximately 100 women were murdered in the last 12 months by their
intimate partners.
