Byron Markets Band of the Day: Guy Kachel Band – in the Food Court. Guy had an idyllic entrée to the world of music. Born in Tamworth, his paternal grandfather, an itinerant harmonica duellist, gave him his first guitar at 15. The strains of country, rock and blues mingled in Guy’s increasingly accomplished craft. Wry observations from a seasoned bard about people immersed in their dreams, dreams that some never escape.
Soulman – in the Food Court. A towering 6 foot 5 inches tall, he is a fluent raconteur spreading feel-good vibes in the high energy performances that are his trademark.
Bassidi Kone – at Coffee Oasis. Bassidi is a multi instrumentalist playing traditional Malian instruments like djembe, gnoni (african guitar) and balaphon (african xylophone). Visiting Byron on a w his beautiful songs and melodies are sung in Bambara, Bobo and French.
