Starting with a screening of That Sugar Film at the Byron Theatre on Friday 27th April at 6.30pm and Q&A afterwards with actor/producer Damon, the project aims to bring awareness to parents, teachers, young people and community members about how we “treat” ourselves in body, mind and spirit.
THAT SUGAR FILM is one man’s journey to discover the bitter truth about sugar. Damon Gameau embarks on a unique experiment to document the effects of a high sugar diet on a healthy body, consuming only foods that are commonly perceived as ‘healthy’. Through this entertaining and informative journey, Damon highlights some of the issues that plague the sugar industry, and where sugar lurks on supermarket shelves. THAT SUGAR FILM will forever change the way you think about ‘healthy’ food.
This event is brought to you by Damon Gameau, Byron Community Centre and Byron Youth Theatre and as part of the Treat Yourself Project funded by Santos Organics. The project continues in May with Well Being days available for Year 7 students in our local high schools.
